Witches Potion Room

Currently On!  We're in the midst of a Halloween Stitch Along!

A super special project for the witching season, we're improving our ⭐️accuracy with line stitching⭐️ over 13 spooktacular days!

Stitch it with or without the Halloween border as festive decoration or to enjoy the whole year round.

Cherry Blossom Tree

Say hi to Roger the Raven! 👋

In this project we're going to stitch ourselves a twisted cherry tree with a raven perched in it and we're going to be practicing our ⭐️Bullion Stitch⭐️ for the blossom!

There's also a lot of french knots in this project so you'll get good at those too.

Shark Tattoo

Say 'ello to Bruce!

(yep all my creatures get a name, my son picked this one)

In this project we're stitching a Sailor Jerry style shark tattoo design and practicing using ⭐️Chain Stitch as a Fill Stitch⭐️ just look at that texture!

Cat & Monstera Plant

In this project we're tackling an advanced technique! ⭐️Thread Painting⭐️ fur by stitching ourselves a little lifelike moggy.

Sookie the cat here comes with fur direction/stitch direction diagrams to follow and I cover how to create realistic fur (purrrfect practice for pet paw-traiture 😉).

We're also stitching a Monstera plant and learning 'Basket Weave Stitch'. So if the moggy is too advanced for you, there's a whole project to enjoy just stitching the plant!

Human Heart

In this project we're going to stitch ourselves an anatomically correct Human Heart using some variations of backstitch!

In this project we're learning our ⭐️Backstitch Variations⭐️ namely whipped backstitch and split backstitch. These are great line stitches to get familiar with as they create an unbroken line without obvious individual stitches.

Included on the design is the French for 'I love you' which is 'Je t'aime' making this a great gift for your heart throb. But feel free to leave out the lettering if you just want yourself a macabre human heart to decorate your crypt with. 😉 I've included a life sized pattern template (who doesn't want a life sized stitched human heart?)

Mythical Beasts Collection

In this project we're ⭐️Mastering Stitch Direction for Long & Short Stitch⭐️ so your stitches flow seamlessly together looking even and neat for beautifully stitched areas of block color!

We'll be doing this primarily with the Dragon project, but my whole mythical beasts collection is included!

Comic Book Pop Art Girl

This funky project focuses on ⭐️Using Patterns to Fill Areas of Color⭐️ a great alternative to satin stitch and a real time saver.

French knots are used to mimic the ‘Ben Day Dots’ printing technique and backstitched lines are used to mimicking another printing technique 'Craftint'. Creating an interesting texture to your embroidery while saving you a lot of stitching time!

This project comes with extra design templates -

- an alphabet of comic style letters so you can write your own thought bubble and

- A second design template of our girl drinking wine in the bath, so you can stitch yourself a 2 panel comic strip!

Fly Agaric Mushroom

The deadly mushroom set are my most beginner friendly designs. They all come with tiny specimen name labels and would look awesome stitched together.

They also double as cute pin badge sized quick-stitch projects for the more advanced stitcher.

In this project we're going to stitch the iconic but deadly 'Fly Agaric' mushroom!

The skill we're practicing in this project is ⭐️Long & Short Stitch Color Blending⭐️ for which we're separating the mushroom cap into 3 sections and blending 3 different shades of red by staggering our stitches.

Fools Concap Mushroom

Learn ⭐️whipped chain stitch⭐️ with this pretty but deadly little crop of 'Fools Conecap' mushrooms. We're using whipped chain stitch for their stalks!

There is also a little name label in a range of styles to cut out and stick onto your finished piece if you want to label it like a real botanists specimen!

Deathcap Mushroom

Learn to ⭐️Color Blend French Knots⭐️ with this deadly 'Deathcap' mushroom.

We’re going to fill our mushroom cap with French knots in three different colours.

For this I’ve separated the cap into three bands with gaps between for blending -  

This fun guy also comes with a little name label to match the other two mushi boi's above.

Ghostly Spectre

Learn to stitch fire with the Ghostly Spectre project

In this project we'll create a spooky little seance scene with candles, a magical circle and a ghostly spectre! 

The skill we're practicing in this project is stitching flames by ⭐️Bending Stitches⭐️

We'll do this by first making a stitch, then pulling the middle of it to one side with your finger, before putting your needle through the strands of the thread as you make the next stitch. This will hold it in place so the stitch is curved.

Painted Goldfish

Double Design!

Learn how to paint your embroidery fabric with Geoffrey and Baby G!

In this project we're painting and stitching a baby goldfish blowing a bubble pipe! 

I've also included a 2nd pattern for my 'Gentleman Goldfish', or Geoffrey as I call him.

We're ⭐️Painting Fabric⭐️ so we're going to take a look at three different paint types in the first lesson: watercolor, acrylic and fabric paint. 

We'll also be getting a little line stitching practice in. We'll be using backstitch, whipped backstitch, satin stitch and running stitch.

Stained Glass Angel

Learn to ⭐️Stroke Stitches⭐️ for perfect satin stitch and learn to stitch stained glass style embroidery in the process! 

A little more advanced, this one includes a tutorial on how to stoke stitches with a 'laying tool' (this can just be a large needle). This technique untwists all the strands and makes them lay straight.

Sound too fiddly? Why not just stroke a small area to get some practice in while creating a nice contrast!

Skeleton Bat

Learn all your ⭐️Outline Stitches⭐️ with skelly bat!

Including 'double threaded backstitch' for his spine! (Yes we get fancy! But it's an easy one, promise!)

In this project we'll learn our line stitches and create a creepy skeleton bat with them!

This little guy stitches up super quick and looks really impressive. So he's another beginner friendly design.

Skull & Succulent

Learn woven detached ⭐️Picot Stitch⭐️ with this macabre little succulent plant growing out of a broken skull. This is such a fun and 3D stitch.

We're also doing a spot of optional fabric painting.
